Tilikambo is Haunted!

449323_art_dzhungli_derevo_zarosli_liany_voda_boloto_prud_1680x1050_www.Gde-Fon.comI have seen them! The vines. Slithering their way through the deep jungle. On my hunt near dawn. I watched them traveling through the rushing waters of the Kuvari. At first I thought they were eels on a migration but there would be no way these creatures could fight the currents of Tengkuju and win! They were receding into the Jungle and glowing brightly from time to time.

As the tendrils passed beneath me upon the land I saw they had someone trapped in their vicious hold. It was a lady. I call her a lady because she was not of the jungle and she was dressed all in white. I could tell she was not a warrior either. I traveled in the trees and above the ground amidst the rocky cliffside trying to discern where these vines were going.

TilikamboAs I came down upon the hillside I could see they were going toward that village, the one where the outlanders live. I followed still! I am an expert huntress and I would discover the place the vines would reveal to me. Through the village then and back into the jungle. I had to run now to keep up with them. I thought for certain they must have drowned their captive in the village because I could no longer see her. I ran past the strange stones from another realm and up the path toward the Sage Advice.

Finally I realized they were no longer traveling the waters, they were up above me! Tendrils cascading upward into the sky I thought. No! Up into Tilikambo! I craned my neck to see them climbing, climbing ever higher. I began my own ascent and as I climbed out onto the highest platform, I saw her.

She was sitting, basked in the noonday sun. Where the throne was no more. And the vines! I tell you the truth! The vines she beckoned to her and their length decreased and they grew thinner and it was as though they were wrapping themselves about her arms and legs and finally disappearing into her hands.

That’s when she saw me. I demanded she tell me who she was and why she was there in our sacred tree. She smiled and rose to her feet and pointed to me with fingers masked in mud. And those vines! Shot from her fingers and knocked me down. When I rose near dusk, I was back upon the ground. I do not know who she is or how she commands the vines.

I think we need to investigate. If Tilikambo needs defended, we must help! Though I am left to wonder, could this be the will of Ame Moei?

A Citizen’s Call for Decency

I am not a member of Stormstead, but I was once a member of the fine city of Stromness before Mystara departed into the Mysts. That being said, I still take an acute interest in the small village that is supposedly the new home of wayward Mystarans.  I have observed the ebb and flow of humanity’s misfits creeping through the village for years.  Civilization is a thin veneer within Eyr.  I think it’s important we strive to retain the respectabilities and the traditions of our once great land and  protect the citizenry.   That is why I am so disturbed by what I witnessed in the Bathhouse last night.

Nakedness and abandon.

Bathhouse-3

Stormstead Justicar and the Mistress of the Craft Dock

Wild dancing.
Loud Music.
Drinking.
And strange magics as evidenced by strange ‘water snakes’ writhing and twisting within the bath waters themselves.

The sounds of lively music  and visions of flickering lights gave me cause to dock my canoe and climb the steps to the Bathhouse.    Imagine my surprise as I drew closer as I became aware of muffled thumping, shrieking laughter,  and loud splashing.  Fearing something amiss I slowed and ventured over to peer through the blinds.  Something I regret even now.

Among those present I recognized the Bathhouse Proprietress herself.  I also noted the familiar red head of the Stormstead Justicar among those those bumping and grinding to the music in the nude.  But he was not alone in this.   There was a wide variety of supposedly ‘respected’ members from the village.  I should note that the Craft Mistress should at least attempt to wear the clothing she is peddling down at the docks.  Those clothed and unclothed all seemed to have been imbued with the drive to dance with utter abandon.  Fae, demon, undead, Mer, and human — all appeared equally infected with this madness.  It was shameful!

Bathhouse-1I was making my way back to the canoe when loud shrieking and laughter erupted on the path behind me.  Lady Blanche pursued by the demon Gideon appeared to be having a naked foot race.  They knocked me off of the trail and sent me tumbling to the fishing dock before they continued cavorting and streaking off into the darkness.  I could hear their thudding footsteps for quite some time as they continued their wicked game of ‘chase’ about the walkways of the village. Isn’t indecent exposure a Stormstead crime?  Are we to let this kind of thing pass?!   And all of this occurring right before the Governor is to wed!

What is more disturbing is that the Festival of the Rains begins Sunday.     And rumor has it that there will  mud wrestling at the event.  It seems the Village Council has taken leave of its senses to allow for such a thing.  I think it time to return to my jungle hut and hide myself away from Stormstead’s version of a ‘civilized’ society.

Boo’s Muse

Ephralia

Buthriax, aka Boo

Dragoness Doggerell

The books are calm.
The candle’s bright.
When bookworms spawn
It gives me fright.

The books, they are
Like friends to me.
My mates, they are
Good company.

The Title Wave
It has a staff.
Its motley crew
A zoo and a half.

A vampire? Oh, yes.
A snake? Indeed.
A mer, yessir!
What’s more, pay heed:

They write, they read
They dish out boons
They’re smart as whips
They’re no buffoons!

The books? My buds.
And so I fear
When bookworms swarm
Uncomfortably near.

For eating books
Is their desire
Those legless grubs
Have earned my ire.

So if you see
Some wormy night
A burst of fire
And angry light

Forgive a dragon
A little flame
Bookworm carnage
Is the aim.

Ask The Jungle

9eb3d91fc0d6678c20d7bb5d3a9832ffThe jungle is not always a fun place. There are always things lurking in the shadows. As you travel into my Jungle just remember I’m your guide.  I am your Shadow and I will protect you on your journey.   You may ask what I’m like.  While I’m not all that open and wish to remain a mystery,  I want you to know that I will never seek to harm. I want to pull back the brush to allow you to see the jungle just outside of the village.

I am the Silver Shadow.

I am quiet and elusive.  I keep to myself watching.  I have numerous experiences and life lessons.   I am a silent observer and have seen rituals both here and abroad.  I have learned many things in my time on the plains and I want to share them with you.  And I am willing to share my knowledge… my advice.  Those of you that would like advice or just need something to talk about write in to me. I will answer everything and anything that you give.

Remember the shadows are watching. I am watching.

The Smell of the Undead

People of Eyr.  Do ye smell that stank? It be the smell of the Undead!

Mal-Stankin up the Place

This one did see a man, hooded and cloaked, on the crafting dock. A missus named Blanche was present and done been brought low by his foulness. The hooded one carried an orb, a staff, and had skulls hanging from his belt. He called out with a message fer someone named Triana. Be safe, Triana. Yon stanky one says he’ll be back fer ya.

When I got closer, he looked to have one hand as only bones left. A lovely mer was present and must have been a priestess. For her pure light drove him off into the jungle. Beware jungle natives!

Mal-Stankin up the Place-2Nna Brings in the Water_CropAnother of the lovely merfolk did call forth the waters to rock the dock. Surely he woulda been taken into the depths of the waters had he not chosen to leave. 􀀂

All I gotta say about the hooded stank is good riddance!  Get gone!  Stay gone!  Go back to dead!  Got no use for yer!

Vanesse Speaks Out against Native Plots

Native plots.

So it seemed that were was a tiger lurking around after all… How convenient! Was it a coincidence or a planned attack? Stormstead is strong! And we won’t be scared by the insignificant threats thrown at us by the natives. Nothing will keep us from the jungle resources.

Vanesse Rumour Mill

Vanesse Whispersong

And now that the natives saw that they unleashed one of their Beasts, yet again, on our village! They try to control us, seclude us from the jungle. They warn us about a fake

menace, than made it real when we didn’t bite. They want to be seen as our trusted friends, but you must see between their lies, like I do.

And I ask you, good people of Stormstead what are they hiding within this forest? A treasure perhaps? Gold? Gemstones? Who knows… and how will we know if we don’t go and find out for ourselves.

We are of Stormstead, we survived this hostile, smelly jungle, and now it is ours! Let’s take our prize!

Sindali Returns? Or Propoganda to keep Villagers ‘in the village?’

Natives lies.

Is she back? After all these years of seclusion, the maneater tigress was said to have attacked a few natives near the entrance of the mines.  If she was so dangerous how did theses natives survive?

Sindali, mate of the great dire tigre Anzu, whom Henry Namingway, founder of our great Salty Swallow vanquished. It was said that Namingway returned in the jungle to finished off the tigress. Has he perished? The greatest hunter of Stormstead?

With the recent elections of the new governor, who knows what these savages would do to stir trouble within the hearts and minds of the good people of Stormstead? How can we trust them? First the Bastets, then they burned down the guards tower, after that they sent the elephants and now a man-eating tigress. I ask you people of Stormstead, when will this stop?

I tell you, good people of Stormstead, do not let their lies scare you.

Vanesse Whispersong

Vanesse Whispersong

Stormstead stands but Stormstead must endure no more. We must not let the natives contain us to the village!  We will take the fight to them, it is time for us to rise and show them who is the conqueror and who is the conquered.

Royalty Enters the Frontier

Arch_Eternal

Kaija of House Naijujai

The soft slither of silk whispering along the caverns of Ebon Reach is the only indication of approach.  But that is all that it takes for the denizens of the cave system to set up and take notice.  There is an air of fear and respect from the ‘Reachers who hurry to make themselves look busy.   She is rumored to be a Princess.  She is known to be a powerful Mage.   Those who have crossed her?  Well, we have yet to find one.

 Welcome Kaija of House Naijujai.
All hail the Eternal Sonjat Tan (Honorable Princess).

Her smooth spoken tones denote Shalant’i royalty and add weight to the rumor that Kaija’s Father was the Scion of House Naijujai –  the heir to the throne of the Shalan Empire who was exiled over 1000 years ago.  Her racial features add to the persona – showing a mix of human, celestial, and high elf like so many of the great houses of Shalan.  Tall and thin, pale skin and black eyes, her high-elf features stand out most prominent.  Her age would appear 30-40 but her eyes reflect age, wisdom, and of cunning patience far beyond that of physical appearance.

The Sonjat Tan arrived in Stormstead after attempting to rally an armed rebellion in Shalan’ti to end the civil war.  Her purpose to rally support here on the frontier to help her reclaim her Father’s rightful throne as Empress.   House Naijujai remains as one of the noble ruling houses within the city but the family itself remains secretive of internal workings.  Kaija has been seen entering and exiting Reach caverns and walking about Stormstead itself.  Her timing is impeccably opportune as the Watcher has disappeared leaving a ‘void’ in the Ebon Reach Cabal.   Was the arrival happenstance or calculated?  Is the Empress seeking to add ‘Eternal’ to her title?  Some whisper that this has already been done.

All hail the Eternal Sonjat Tan, Empress, and Eternal.
