Really what can be said for this calamity? That the villagers felt the threat so severely that it required a full assault on what by all accounts were three members of the Ebon Reach and their leader or master, the Eternal. A large section of void was set aside by some dark power and the villagers entered the rift and were immediately beset by the savagery of the Reachers. Such unrequited blood lust saw to it that the villagers would respond with force and the battle raged for several hours. Each side took it’s hits with the only healers taking care exclusively to aid the villagers. By all accounts one such healer was neutral and the other a fledgling member of the Moei Asing. Regardless of the severity of hits, the Eternal and his undead accomplice survived the battle until the very end. When a villager, otherwise normally a healer, took the opportunity to deliver a savage blow to these two Reachers and unleashed a powerful flower known as Corpus Lotus. It was only a matter of time then before the Eternal was defeated. The attacks by the villagers did damage but witness accounts state that he fell rather quickly. Was it the lotus? Or was this his plan all along? Others have stated that one of the Reach spoke to the rifts seeing their time come to pass and the villagers and Moei Asing would be tasked with the clean up so to speak. Two other members of the Reach battled fiercely as well, one disappearing following the battle and the other, an Alexander Movolio, was taken prisoner.
Once the Eternal’s body disappeared, the Void rift began to disintegrate and those with magical inclination were able to collapse the rift at the site of the battle. The effect was quite violent and did considerable damage to the land and to the villagers who had so bravely fought. Witness accounts spoke of a faun by the name of Glade, a celestial by the name of Xal, Wanton Aime of the Stormstead tavern and council, and two elves, one of the woods and one formerly of the Ebon Reach. What will become of the Reach now? It’s difficult to tell, but what is quite discernible is the dramatic disappearance of the void rifts and little sign remains of their having been upon the land at all. Some cleanup remains, as well as the threat of continued corruption upon the land itself. Hopefully, the damage is temporary.
So who was the Eternal of the Ebon Reach? Now that he’s gone, destroyed, taken out by the cold metal and indiscriminate magic in the hands of the village and jungle denizens. His history runs deep in Eyr. A pack alpha of Mystara who came with the original settlers and terrorized folks before he even took a step into undeath. He was well known to those who remained and yet, disappeared for some length of time. He was witnessed roaming the land again only some few months ago and taunted a few familiar denizens but essentially found benign. Of course some could see the signs, that there was more to his coming back than met the eye. How could anyone prepare for his inevitable rise as Eternal of Ebon Reach? Very little is known of the actual ascension, since the secrets run deeply within the darkened halls and tunnels. However, one thing is well known and that is the power of the Void. It’s already afflicted several of the village and the Moei Asing. What remains to be seen is how exactly the Eternal wields this force. If he does so by his own accord, he may have indeed met his fate. However, if the Void instead uses him as its instrument of torment upon the land and her citizens, it’s only a matter of time before a new vessel is chosen and the terror returns to us. The question remains, will the undead return though his body seemed to be vanquished or will another rise in his place? Let us not underestimate the power of this Void, even a vile monster does not pollute its own home for long. The void rifts may be only the beginning.

Black Molly as seen invading the Deeper Reef
Black Molly has struck again…this time right near our reef. First the undead vengeful pirate arose at the Crone’s Eye with the help of a necromancer, then she attacked the market at the Ebon Reach, bringing back more of her crew. Then, from what I have heard, she then next landed at the base of Tilikambo – the home of the Asings – once again raising her dead crew from the earth. Finally, they went and attacked our own Deeper territory.
Ebon Reach…the Moei Asing…and now my own Kuvari’s Deep…I fear this dead pirate is attacking every single one of us, with Stormstead being the final target. It would make sense, because that is where Black Molly’s tortuous execution took place.
Battle scene from the beach even as Deepers continued to battle from the waters.
This has to end. For too long we have endured Black Molly’s terror, and we must make sure she and her crew are laid to rest once and for all, before they have a chance to escape and cause terror amidst the open seas once more. It is a final battle I wish to partake in, not run away from. We must all show vigilance and be ready to leap into battle when called. Eyr is in danger, and I will not float around as our home is terrorized by the undead. So I plead to all of Eyr, join me in ending this threat, once and for all!

A fire burned tonight upon the Moei Mound, though its light paled in comparison to the lost life it symbolizes.
Ornith’s Funeral Pyre at the Moei Mound
The denizens of Eyr said goodbye to one of their own tonight; Ornith fell in a skirmish Monday night with Ebon Reach. To honor her life and memory, a pyre was constructed, and the shell that had once held the bright soul was cremated.
Ornith was many things to all of us – friend, mentor, beloved, wife, and Myan. Her calm demeanor diffused many tense moments, and her wisdom and caring oft times brought out the better side of those she spent time with.
It was hard not to like the quiet cleric, and so it is with heavy hearts that we gathered to wish her farewell.
The Moei Asing are not left completely leaderless, as Khanya Silongo and Juni Gynn will be doing their best to keep the faction going. Juni, representing the two Verdicts at the funeral, informed those gathered that she and Khanya will be filling in until Ame chooses another leader for the faction. She also issued a statement that, until further notice, anyone swearing fealty to the imp of Ebon Reach will not be welcome in Tilikambo.
Yesterday a faun approached me and asked me to record her tale. She had witnessed something in one of the lava caves on Mt. Azifix. I was skeptical until I realized she was speaking of the dragon which had soared down the length of the Kuvari and back toward Tilikambo. I saw this clearly. His wings darkened the sky over the river and his bellowing cut through the air. He sailed down over the village and returned to the Great Tree. The tales are true. Azifix has been awakened. And not by a false Myan as Clovis suspected, but by Ornith herself.
The ancient tale of the dragons speaks of both Azifix and Ohm. Clovis spoke of seeing Ohm’s shadow setting atop her mountain. Tonight I visited the Myconid Cave within the heart of Mt. Ohm with a friend. Deep gouges and scratches line the walls and floors of the cavern and the scent of dragon lies heavy in the air. Also found was a smattering of small bloodstains. The size of them indicating that the wounds were very minor or that perhaps the blood is not from the dragon. The spongy earth of the mushroom cave making it difficult to tell as the walls digest organic matter.
We saw that Azifix has awakened. And now I believe we have proof that Ohm has resurfaced. As Clovis stated. “An angry dragon is a vengeful and hungry thing.” What then of two? The Asings have been Stormstead allies since the time of Governor Jil. Tensions escalated however when Governor Dar’kuss rose to power. He not only physically attacked the Myan but sought to sever ties with members of the Moei Asing and of Kuvari’s Deep.
- Has the Myan decided to sever the alliance and loose the dragons upon us?
- What is the plan behind all of this?
- Or is there someone in the shadows pulling the strings?
I think it is time to seek answers.

The scent of death lies heavy in the air near one of the upper pools and an unmarked cave on Mt. Azifix. Nearby plantlife is shredded and flattened from the ferocity of the battle. Six dead wolves litter the ground around the pools and a nearby cave. Six brutally killed and left to rot on the jungle floor. No hides recovered, no bodies buried. They were left for the jungle to cleanup.
The carnage of this site shocks me still. The sheer waste of the lives themselves and the bodies after. Hides left untaken and bodies left to rot. I have seen the damage that wolves can do and I admit that my loyalties are torn. I had scented the signs around Tilikambo. The animals were desperate, anxiety ridden, and lashing out. I don’t understand the underlying reason. There was no full moon. I just know that what I scented felt unnatural. I don’t feel the wolves were truly at fault here.
I am worried for those wolves and wolfkin remaining. Will we fall subject to whatever overcame these wolves? Will we become targeted next either by whatever affected the wolves or the people that killed them?
Are we entering a new phase of understanding with the Asing? Who can tell. But I do know this is a side of the natives I’ve not seen before. And I admit it does give me pause – I remember the care Stormstead took to harvest trees from the jungle to honor the Asing god and maintain balance. And now we see where animals have been slaughtered and their bodies left to litter the jungle floor.

Black Molly, Guilty of Treason and Conspiracy. Sentenced to Execution.
The toll taken by the Aradian pirates has been a harsh one. One that was dealt with in even harsher measures. Stormstead citizens met on Tuesday to watch justice be served and then watched in shocked horror as Stormstead’s Guard provided armed protection while the Captain of the Guard tortured and killed the pirate hostage. What has been billed as an execution to serve justice, turned into a bloodthirsty spectacle.
Battle Scene in front of Sage Advice
The pirates have taken prisoners and attacked and stolen from businesses. We were lucky to get our own Governor back. But what of the others? We know Lady Ornith was taken during the attack against Sage Advice. This was a savage battle that engulfed the area near the apothecary and the Mystfolk Mound. An enraged bear entered into the fray adding even more confusion. But in the end? All the pirates were dead save for the one which escaped with Ornith. The quiet-spoken elven woman is known throughout the island for her kindness and healing capabilities as well as her knowledge of plantlife and herbs. Ornith was not only the proprietor of Sage Advice but had also helped many through her service to the Medica and the bookstore. Her loss is felt heavily. Her friends and allies deeply worried.
Ornith, Sage Advice Proprietor Abducted by Pirates
Another who has gone missing is Adrianne Parkin, proprietor of the Gnome Depot. Was she taken as well? She has not been seen since the pirates looted the Depot getting away with two boatloads of hard-to-obtain goods and severely depleting the store’s stock. Rumors continue to circulate, we all wonder and fear. Where are the pirates and what is to happen next?
This reporter does not know the future. Everyone is poised for another attack. Fear is in the air. And tensions in the village are high. People are wary even of each other. Have the pirates left the area? Will we ever see those who have been taken again? What has happened to our own form of justice here within the village? Can we trust those that wield the power? It is apparent we have far greater problems to solve than what has been presented with the pirates. We will have to wait to see how it plays out.

As a citizen of Stormstead I am frustrated and furious. I want the dead to stay dead. I want them deader. I want the Reachers to crawl back in their hole and become victims to the Void they worship. I want to twist the undead inside out and upside down to spill out their innards to become fertilizer at my feet. Then I want to spit on the remains before setting it all on fire. And right now I would I would give everything I own to see that happen. I am not alone in these wishes. Any Villager who has been here more than a week wants the same thing.
Stormstead village has been victimized yet again. Valkyrie has been taken hostage suffering who knows what sorts of torture. Amara Hendry remains in the Medica struggling for breath with damaged lungs. For what? The Reach’s purpose unknown though the guardhouse appears to be the target. Weaponry theft? I think not. They have more weapons at their disposal than we could hope to put together. They wield spells, spiders and serpents with apparent impunity. And now they have swords that emit toxins that damage our lungs and render us helpless and at their disposal. The dead are using to target the living. How do we fight this? They are dead already which makes them impervious to most anything I can do.
Our blood has been spilled and taken against our will and for evil purposes. Our citizens have been attacked, poisoned, trapped, kidnapped, tortured, and held hostage. Our own Governor became a victim to one of their pit traps not once but twice. We have lost weapons and supplies. Our Medica was sacked. For what? The dead have no need of healing. It was a needless theft and destruction of items we work so hard to obtain and create. But above all – we have lost lives. At least one has died at the hands of Ebon Reach during the time I have been here. Many more I’m sure I will never know about. I wonder how many skeletons lie in those tunnels?
We know the names of at least two of the Lich villains. Hikari and Malorum. We know also know of a drider was involved in this last raid and a helmeted figure that has been recognized as being in the village before. From here on out I believe we fire first and ask questions later. Burn them. That is one of the few avenues open. At least if burned it takes them overnight to respawn. Burn them and then take their tunnels.
Every Villager needs to stand ready. If you even suspect someone is of the Reach – raise the alarm. Carry your weaponry with you at all times. Don’t ask, don’t question, don’t hesitate. Make the first strike against them count as it may be the only chance you get. They are powerful. We need to be more aggressive. We need to make this vermin scuttle back beneath the ground where they belong. They are already dead. Now is the time to bury them.

People of Eyr. Do ye smell that stank? It be the smell of the Undead!
This one did see a man, hooded and cloaked, on the crafting dock. A missus named Blanche was present and done been brought low by his foulness. The hooded one carried an orb, a staff, and had skulls hanging from his belt. He called out with a message fer someone named Triana. Be safe, Triana. Yon stanky one says he’ll be back fer ya.
When I got closer, he looked to have one hand as only bones left. A lovely mer was present and must have been a priestess. For her pure light drove him off into the jungle. Beware jungle natives!
Another of the lovely merfolk did call forth the waters to rock the dock. Surely he woulda been taken into the depths of the waters had he not chosen to leave.
All I gotta say about the hooded stank is good riddance! Get gone! Stay gone! Go back to dead! Got no use for yer!

So it seemed that were was a tiger lurking around after all… How convenient! Was it a coincidence or a planned attack? Stormstead is strong! And we won’t be scared by the insignificant threats thrown at us by the natives. Nothing will keep us from the jungle resources.
And now that the natives saw that they unleashed one of their Beasts, yet again, on our village! They try to control us, seclude us from the jungle. They warn us about a fake
menace, than made it real when we didn’t bite. They want to be seen as our trusted friends, but you must see between their lies, like I do.
And I ask you, good people of Stormstead what are they hiding within this forest? A treasure perhaps? Gold? Gemstones? Who knows… and how will we know if we don’t go and find out for ourselves.
We are of Stormstead, we survived this hostile, smelly jungle, and now it is ours! Let’s take our prize!
Is she back? After all these years of seclusion, the maneater tigress was said to have attacked a few natives near the entrance of the mines. If she was so dangerous how did theses natives survive?
Sindali, mate of the great dire tigre Anzu, whom Henry Namingway, founder of our great Salty Swallow vanquished. It was said that Namingway returned in the jungle to finished off the tigress. Has he perished? The greatest hunter of Stormstead?
With the recent elections of the new governor, who knows what these savages would do to stir trouble within the hearts and minds of the good people of Stormstead? How can we trust them? First the Bastets, then they burned down the guards tower, after that they sent the elephants and now a man-eating tigress. I ask you people of Stormstead, when will this stop?
I tell you, good people of Stormstead, do not let their lies scare you.
Stormstead stands but Stormstead must endure no more. We must not let the natives contain us to the village! We will take the fight to them, it is time for us to rise and show them who is the conqueror and who is the conquered.
